Healthy Homework Habits

Designate a place in your home where your child will consistently complete homework (desk, table in quiet place, special chair in bedroom, etc.)
Have plenty of supplies available at the homework station (sharp pencils, an eraser, 2nd grade word list, letter formation chart for neat handwriting, etc.)
Encourage a consistent time to complete homework (this may be directly after school, after dinner~ determine what works best for your child)
Have a healthy, energy boosting snack before beginning work (peanut butter crackers, grapes, fruit smoothies)
Have younger siblings read, color, draw, etc. during the designated work time, so as not to disturb your student
Do not spend more than 15-20 minutes on homework per afternoon
Establishing healthy homework habits now, will help your student in the future!!
